Calling Israelis "the only friends we have in the Middle East," Borough President James Molinaro (above) said, "They've fought for their freedom and they've earned the right to live in peace. . . Every civilized human being that values freedom and the quality of life we want to believe in and we have in this country should be fighting against the barbarians that are attacking Israel."

Councilman James Oddo (above)said that President Reagan stated that "freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. Take out the word freedom. Replace it with Israel. Israel is never more than one generation away from extinction. . . .This is good versus evil. This is right versus wrong, and this is civilized versus terrorism"

Assemblyman John Lavelle (below),who has traveled to Israel, said: "Israel is fighting to continue its existence as a nation. The U.S. should make crystal clear that our well-being is closely tied to the existence of Israel."
