As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
WE BECAME ONE COLOR.
As we carried each other down the stairs of the burn towers,
WE BECAME ONE CLASS.
As we lit candles of waiting and hope,
WE BECAME ONE GENERATION.
As the firelighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno,
WE BECAME ONE GENDER.
As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength
WE BECAME ONE FAITH.
As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement
WE SPOKE ONE LANGUAGE.
As we gave our blood in lines a mile
WE BECAME ONE BODY.
s we mourned together the great loss
WE BECAME ONE SOUL.
As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes
WE BECOME ONE PEOPLE.
We are
ONE COLOR,
ONE CLASS,
ONE GENERATION,
ONE GENDER,
ONE FAITH,
ONE LANGUAGE,
ONE BODY,
ONE FAMILY,
ONE SOUL,
ONE PEOPLE.
We are the Power of One.
We are united.
WE ARE AMERICA

Psalm 27:1-3, 5, 7,9,13-14
The L-rd is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The L-rd is the stronghold of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me to devour my flesh-
My adversaries and foes-they shall stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war rise up against me,
Yet I will keep faith.
For G-d will hid me in His shelter
In the day of trouble;
G-d will conceal me under the cover of His tent;
G-d will set me high upon a rock.
Hear, O L-rd, when I cry aloud,
Be gracious to me and answer me!
'Come,' my heart says, 'seek G-d's face!'
Your face, L-rd, do I seek.
Do not hide your face from me.
Do not turn your servant away in anger,
You who have been my help.
Do not cast me off, do not forsake me,
O G-d of my salvation!
I believe that I shall see the goodness of the L-rd
In the land of the living.
Wait for the L-rd; be strong,
And let your heart take courage;
Wait for the L-rd!
