PSALM 46 AND PRAYERS FROM THE WALL OF REMEMBERANCE

PSALM 46:1-7

G-d is our refuge and strength;
A very present help in time of trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Though the earth should change,
Though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of G-d, the holy habitation of the Most High.
G-d is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved; G-d will help it when the morning dawns.
That nations are in an uproar, the kingdoms totter; G-d utters His voice, the earth melts.
The L-rd of hosts is with us;
The G-d of Jacob is our refuge.

PRAYERS FROM THE WALL OF REMEMBRANCE PENNSYLVANIA STATION, 34TH STREET, MANHATTAN SEPTEMBER 11 - 30, 2001

A prayer for those for whom we care
And those we did not know
A tear, a sigh, a distant stare
A word that wants for more.

Now, sadly mourning, let us go
To blanket hate, with love like snow.

The towers were taken, with them...someone's father Someone's mother, someone's son, someone's daughter,
Someone's sister, someone's brother, someone's wife, Someone's husband, someone's uncle, someone's aunt,
Someone's lover, someone's friend.

We hold strangers in our arms and share their loss.
We hold a stranger's hand and pray, not just a prayer
Of our faith, but prayers from many religions.
The world stopped and shared a moment of silence.
At home we hold those we love, a little tighter, a little longer. We are different. We are changed.
