BEGINNING HEBREW at 7:15-7:45PM

Every Jewish person should know Hebrew. The class teaches the sounds of the consonants and vowels. By the end of the year you should read fluently and follow the Friday night services. Also, a pre-requisite for anyone wishing to have an adult B'nai Mitzvah (see below).

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED HEBREW at 8:00-8:30PM.

If you know how to read and want to improve by reviewing prayers and Jewish classical texts. and want to become more proficient in reading Hebrew, let's develop our skills and learn how to read the prayer book, and Chumash in Hebrew. This class is designed to have students develop a vocabulary (great for future travel to Israel) understand roots of words, and know how to form sentences.

Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah Training Program

Perhaps you missed your Bar/Bat Mitzvah and would like to have one as an adult; you are invited to make a commitment to an 8-month course of study that will provide you with the skills to read Hebrew, sing the prayers, and chant the Haftorah and Torah portions. Open to anyone on the Intermediate and Advanced levels. Call Rabbi Stern to share your desire and to discuss your Hebrew reading experiences.
